Abstract
The Senate Select Bipartisan Committee conducted an investigation into the U.S.'s preparation for and response to Hurricane Katrina. The committee examined records of the actions taken by relevant national, state, and local leaders. The committee found that the U.S.'s information systems are not efficient enough to handle such a catastrophe. Additionally, the committee found that physical infrastructure was not adequately installed and humanitarian responses to the disaster were ineffective.
