Report of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform U.S. House of Representatives Regarding President Bush's Assertion of Executive Privilege in Response to the Committee Subpoena to Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey

House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Abstract
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform investigated the leak of a CIA agent's identity, with the goals of finding the cause and actions taken after the release of information. The committee wanted to obtain reports of the conversations of the Vice President and President, to see whether they were involved in this situation, focusing primarily upon the Vice President. Due to the usage of executive privilege over the documents, the investigation was halted by the president and by doing so, went against the Committee's authorization under House Rule XI. In addition to the main report, the additional views of Ranking Member Tom Davis are also available for download. The report mentions additional views by Chairman Henry Waxman as well, though they have not been located.
