Report on Allegations Regarding State Department Inspector General Howard Krongard
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Abstract
The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform conducted an investigation into State Department Inspector General Howard Krongard due to his inability to investigate credible reports of wasteful spending and procurement fraud, especially with regard to Iraq and Afghanistan. At the beginning stage of investigation, many accounts of unusual actions were described, which prompted General Howard Krongard to involve himself in this investigation. His involvement within this investigation hindered the Committee's actions, and as of right now, Mr. Krongard has yet to comply fully with the subpoena, suppressing the Committee of important documents.
