House Committee on Government Reform
Special Investigations Division
Abstract
The Special Investigations Division of the House Committee on Government Reform conducted an investigation into the quality of life, facility and care conditions in nursing homes in Arkansas. The report analyzed annual nursing home inspection reports provided by the Department of Health and Human Services. The committee found that the vast majority of nursing homes in Arkansas violated federal standards of care, while only a few displayed violations which caused actual harm to residents.
