Direct From the Source: Understanding Regulation From the Inside Out

Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Abstract
Under the leadership of Senator Ron Johnson, the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs issued a Majority Staff report which focuses on the role and success of regulations from the perspective of the private sector. The report seeks to open up the discourse about the regulatory process and their necessity regarding specific regulations by creating a space where a vast and varied amount of organizations can voice their opinions. The Committee finds that many of the current regulations imposed on the private sector do not achieve their intended consequences, and result in burdensome costs on these organizations and companies that may negatively affect the American economy.
