House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Abstract
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform investigates if the employees in the Cincinnati office of the IRS used "inappropriate" criteria to screen applicants for tax-exempt status. The committee conducted 39 interviews of witnesses, including employees from multiple IRS offices. The interviews revealed no evidence of white house involvement and no evidence of political motivation. Additionally, evidence indicated a lack of adequate guidance and need for better management.
