Abstract
The Subcommittee on Domestic Policy of the House Committee on Oversight and Government and Reform report examines the effect of increase temperatures on gasoline and the resulting increased costs to consumers. This report found that 513.8 million gallons of gasoline sold in the summer of 2007 is attributable to the thermal expansion of gasoline, and that consumers would pay a hot fuel premium during the summer in the range of $1.5 billion.
