Abstract
The Special Invesitgations Division of the House Committee on Government Reform analyzed price disparities in breast cancer drugs between Long Island and foreign countries. Long Island has one of the highest breast cancer rates and, as a result, breast cancer treatment drugs are much more expensive. The investigation found that breast cancer drugs were more expensive in Long Island than in other countries and costed, on average, 3x more than in Canada and France. Moreover, the most widely used breast cancer drug had the highest price differential between Long Island and foreign countries.
