Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management
Abstract
From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued a weekly waste report for the East-West Center (E-W Center) at the University of Hawaii, created in 1960 to "better relations and understanding among the people and nations of the United States, Asia, and the Pacific." The investigation reports that over 600 foreign citizens are currently attending the E-W center with U.S. federal funding. Despite calls to cut E-W center spending, funding continues to increase year-by-year.
