Cover Oregon: How Mismanagement and Political Interference Squandered $305 Million Federal Taxpayer Dollars

House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Abstract
The House Committee of on Oversight and Government Reform issued a majority staff report concerning the development of the Cover Oregon website and it's mismanagement. The report contends that both the federal and state government failed to adequately oversee and facilitate the process and committed several errors involving oversight, contracting external companies, and money management. The report states that these failures ultimately led to Cover Oregon not functioning properly by the state deadline. Furthermore, the report finds that political inference from government officials may have exacerbated this process and mislead the public in its public affirmations.
