Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs
Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs
Abstract
Senator Fred Thompson, Chairman of the The Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs issued a report on management challenges that are facing federal departments and agencies. The report covers the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), an act that supports performance based government, and which agencies were using it to better their management issues. Poor management of federal agencies causes waste of money and prevents the government from achieving goals. After review, the report found that the 24 largest federal agencies had not been using the (GPRA) to set goals and address issues causing the poor management.
