Abstract
From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued a weekly waste report concerning the matter of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) spending $1.5 million on a public bathroom in a New York City park. In the report, an argument is made that one of the most interesting aspects of this project, other than the expensive price tag, was that USDOT funded the creation of the bathroom, which in this report, is stated as not falling under the scope of its jurisdiction.
