President Biden is Wasting Billions by Not Building the Border Wall

Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Subcommittee on Government Operations and Border Management
Abstract
At the request of Ranking Member James Lankford, the Minority Staff of the Subcommittee on Government Operations and Border Management of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs issued a report regarding funding related to proposed border wall construction. The report found that President Biden's effort to suspend or terminate border wall construction has cost taxpayers between $1.8 and $2.1 billion from the already allocated funds transferred to the U.S. Department of Defense, due to increased requests for study findings and the cost of guarding materials in the desert that were designated for the construction of the wall.
