Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management
Abstract
From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued a weekly waste report over a $90,000 grant from the Department of State that seeks to facilitate better relations between the cultures of the U.S. and the United Kingdom. The report takes issue with the use of taxpayer money to fund this program because the countries are already close allies of one another, ultimately concluding that the program is unnecessary based on the advancement of social media and the favorable opinions of each other between Britons and Americans.
