Unsubstantiated Allegations of Wrongdoing Involving the Clinton Administration

House Committee on Government Reform
Abstract
The House Committee on Government Reform investigated allegations made against the Clinton administration by Chairman Dan Burton of the House Government Reform Committee. In the pursuit of investigating these allegations, Burton was estimated to have costed taxpayers over $23 million after he issued over 900 subpoenas, obtained 2 million pages of documents, and interviewed, deposed, or called to testify over 350 witnesses. The report examined the validity of these allegations and found that most investigations were unsubstantiated.
