Abstract
The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations issued a Bipartisan Staff Report on allegations that female ICE detainees at the Irwin County Detention Center were subjected to excessive, invasive, and often unnecessary gynecological procedures by Dr. Mahendra Amin, whose treatment patterns and lack of proper oversight by ICE and facility operators raised significant concerns about medical neglect and abuse. The report contains recommendations.
