United States Secret Service: An Agency in Crisis
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Abstract
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform issued a staff report which looks into scandals and the resulting state of the Secret Service. The report delves into several scandals the Secret Service has been involved in within a four year span, and the current condition of the Secret Service at an institutional level. The committee found the Secret Service is suffering from organizational mismanagement, understaffing at various operational levels, and low collective self-esteem which greatly hinders the Secret Service's job of protection.
