Waste: A Documentary

Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management
Abstract
From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued a weekly waste report which discussed a program that funded American filmmakers to travel the world and show their documentaries to other countries in the name of diplomacy. The report finds that approximately $5 million was spent on this program over the course of 4 years which it considers wasteful spending. Additionally, the report discusses how the United States may be forced to borrow more money due to the budget deficit.
