Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs
Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations
Abstract
The Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations of the Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs conducted an investigation into the threat of easily-accessible fake identification acquired through the internet. The Subcommittee investigated instances of false identification use as well as instances where these identifications were used to access secure government buildings. The investigation found the threat of false identification was growing in the U.S. due to the ease in which false identification could be procured.
