Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management
Abstract
From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued an annual compilation edition of the weekly waste reports which looked at waste found in the year 2020. The report looks into various programs that it deemed wasteful that year, and attempts to display the monetary and social costs of all the programs. It finds that approximately $54 billion in taxpayer money was used in these programs which is equivalent to the taxes of over five million individuals.
