Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management
Abstract
From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued a weekly waste report focusing on a $400,000 grant that seeks to help Armenia cut business regulations to help their economy. The report takes aim at the fact that cutting regulations is good, but questions why the Federal Government is helping foreign countries with this process rather than doing so domestically. The Subcommittee finds that regulations costs the U.S. economy approximately $1 trillion per year.
