House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Abstract
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform investigates the case of Aaron Alexis, who murdered twelve people at the Washington Navy Yard, which he gained access to because of his security clearance. The report discusses how Alexis received and maintained his security clearance, despite questionable conduct. It also describes the OPM's federal security clearance process. The Committee plans to consider legislation to improve problems in the security clearance process discussed in this report.
