Abstract
The Special Investigations Division of the House Committee on Government Reform sought to investigate elementary school class sizes for Kindergarten through third-grade. The committee analyzed class sizes across three different counties in Minnesota and compared them to national recommendations on class sizes. The committee found that overcrowded classrooms is a very serious problem, with 90% of classrooms in the three Minnesota counties exceeding the recommended class size of 18 students.
