Abstract
From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued a weekly waste report focused on the Department of Defense appropriating $40,000 for a model of the Fairchild Air Force Base (AFB). The Fairchild AFB sought funds to build the model in order to preserve the historic significance of the Base at its height before demolishing several buildings to "decrease the cost of maintainting infrustructure." The report contends the motivation and logic behind the historical preservation is "dubious."
