Abstract
The Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs led by Senator Rand Paul produced an Initial Majority Oversight report to help the American public understand the issues confronting the ongoing U.S. effort in Afghanistan. In the report, details concerning the Subcommittee's on-the-ground oversight of U.S. spending in-country from April 14th to 16th, 2018 is described. The report additionally describes concerns regarding the quality and quantity of progress made in Afghanistan over 17 years using U.S. taxpayer finances.
