Abstract
The Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations of the Senate Committee of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs issued a Minority Staff report on customer service and billing practices of cable and satellite television providers. Regarding billing, the report details customer complaints against opaque pricing claims, rising costs, expiring promotions, and unexpected additional fees. Regarding customer service, the report focuses on unwanted sales tactics, difficult cancellation procedures, and probing questions after interest in cancellations.
