Uncle Sam, Registering Wine in Moldova

Abstract

From the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Subcommittee on Federal Spending Oversight and Emergency Management led by Senator Rand Paul issued a weekly waste report focused on a program that will spend approximately $500,000 on the wine industry in Moldova to help identify and sign grape growers into the "Wine and Vine Registry." The report takes issue with U.S. taxpayer dollars being used to develop a foreign country's wine industry in a program that may not even work.
