USPS Oversight Update 4

Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Abstract
Ranking Member Gary Peters from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs conducted an investigation into Postal Service delays resulting from operational changes at the United States Postal Service (USPS) made by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. This oversight report provides additional updates on the USPS after oversight from congress. As reported: "Postmaster General DeJoy announced he would suspend certain changes until after the 2020 general election. However, the Postmaster General and the Board are currently working on a strategic plan that will likely include dramatic changes to USPS operations [and] Postal Service leadership has also failed to disclose whether they will reinstate prior changes that could affect mail delivery." The report additionally questions how the planned approach may affect mail delivery in the future.
